The day Jack and Lisa waiting for so long comes at the end. Next morning they will head off for their holiday, so all the bags are “over” packed with Lisa’s clothes and a back pack for Jack. Next morning when they wake up a little later than usual, Jack carefully stuffs the bags to the car and Lisa gets the snacks for the road which they both know will finish in the half an hour of the journey.
As the sun starts to set they decide to get on the road. They both sit in the car, Jack puts on his driving and listens Lisa to makes fun of him. Lisa checks the track list of the car audio to make a nice list for the road. So the journey starts with “It’s such a perfect day” from Lou Reed as Lisa thinks this would be a great song to start for such a journey. As they finish the crackers and start the chocolates Lisa begins to ask questions about where they are going. And even though Jack was planning this to be a surprise still he realises that if he won’t give any clues, the journey would become a hell for him. So he tells her that its small houses by a huge lake which is located in a forest full of pine trees where he is planning to leave her in the middle of the forest to see if she can find her way back. Lisa pretends to be unwilling but actually she kind of likes the idea of learning orientation and surviving in the wild.
They keep passing through mountains with little villages and it starts to get dark. Then they keep driving at a narrow mountain road with tall trees on both sides as it starts pouring rain. Jack turns to Lisa and sees she fell asleep already so he opens the window a little to make sure he doesn’t falls asleep too. But also he finds it very irritating as the cars passes through them with their full beams. After about 10-15 km into this mountain road he starts to hear funny noises from the car engine and just half a minute later the car stalls. With the wobble of the cars stall Lisa also wakes up trying to understand what’s happening. But Jack is also not sure about what’s going on, so lefts the car opens the car bonnet to see if there is anything he can do just to remember that he knows nothing about car mechanics. So he gets into the car soaking wet and tries to call help but there is no reception on both of their phones. Then he comes to the conclusion that he should go out and look for help, there must be a petrol station or something around the area even though all he could see for km’s was just a few houses by the side of the road. But Lisa says she doesn’t wants to stay alone in the car as it is dark and they are in the middle of nowhere.
So they decide to go together to get help but it’s pouring rain outside and they have no coats or umbrella in the car. Then Jack goes to back of the car and tries to find couple a jacket. When he comes back Lisa gets out of the car, wears the jacket Jack founds for her and starts walking but under the pouring rain Lisa gets soaking wet just like Jack did few minutes ago but after a few minutes they give up and surrender to the rain and tries to enjoy it as they are young again and having a romantic walk under the rain with the smell of fresh grass.
After a good 4-5 km they see the first man made structure, a house. A mansion for that matter which has been surrounded with high gall-nut walls that only allows you in from a high gate with thick bars. They hope there is someone inside so they can make a phone call to ask for help or even they may be nice people and let them to stay for the night. As these thoughts goes through their minds they reach to the gates just to find that the gates are open and they rush into the garden where they are dazzled with the beauty of the flowers around but quickly they remember its pouring rain so they head for the house. Even there is no lights they can see at the windows “it is still a good idea to knock the door” says Jack and nods her head Lisa. So Jack reaches the door and knocks strongly thinking that they might be asleep. But as surprising as it is the door slowly opens, Jack and Lisa looks at each other with confusion and Lisa says: “we should go in and at least see if they have a phone that’s working” and Jack nods his head and right after cleaning their shoes they walk in the house. As soon as Lisa sees the hallway with two staircases on both sides and the lovely sculpture in their middle that’s located on the lovely white marble she can’t hide her admiration. But all Jack could think is finding a phone but he shouts first to see if anyone is at the house but no one answers. So he starts to wonder in the house to find a phone and walks into the living room where he sees a fireplace that’s still lit. Then his eyes catches the half glasses of red wine and whiskey that’s right next to the two chairs facing the fireplace. That makes him think they must have left the house in a hurry which also explains why the door is open too. But as he keeps looking around the room he realises not only there is no phone also no television or even a radio.
Lisa who keeps wondering this lovely living space shouts at Jack if he finds anything but as he answers negative she somehow feels relieved. Then Jack offers to her that they should wait if they would come back as it would make no sense if they carry on walking outside. Lisa answer without even thinking for a second to stay and starts searching the house for some dry clothes like it’s their own house.
She comes back after a few minutes with a dark blue t-shirt on her and another t-shirt and a bottom for Jack to wear that she found in the laundry room. So they change into these dry clothes and Lisa sits on the chair by the fire place as Jack went for pouring drinks for both.
Suddenly they found their selves feeling at home so starts to sip their drinks and chatting next to the cosy fire place. As they finish couple of glasses they move to the bear skin mat that’s just in front of the fire. Even though Jack starts to think sitting in front of a fire on a bear skin with a glass of 18 years old glenfiddich is so lame, he starts to get used to the idea very quickly, Lisa in the other hand already started to enjoy the moment.
As the sun rises outside Jack wakes up with a bit of back and neck pain that’s related to the fact that they have slept on the floor all night. Then he walks outside of the house to see if it stopped raining. When he opens the doors he feels the warmth of the weather and it’s not only stopped raining but also he sees it’s very warm outside. For a moment he thought why it is so warm outside while he is stretching himself and with a momentary reflex he looked above and saw two suns that shine in the sky which he couldn’t explain.
As he was thinking why there were two suns in the sky, he heard Lisa shouting his name and felt a touch on his shoulder which made him think she woke up but still couldn’t understand why she was shouting like something was wrong. And suddenly he closed this eyes for a moment and then as he opened them all he could hear was Lisa shouting and all he could see was the two headlights of the car coming straight towards them..!
